  1. Use a numbered hopscotch course with a start and a rest area at the far end.
  2. Toss the beanbag into the first square. Hop along the course, skipping that square, then collect it on the return.
  3. Advance the target by one square each successful turn. A missed toss or step on a line ends the turn.

Play safely

Use a dry, flat surface away from through-traffic. Mark only where chalk is permitted; never mark monuments or historic paving.

Adapt the activity

Step rather than hop, or play the numbered-target tossing sequence from a seated position. Use larger, high-contrast squares and adjust the distance.
